Bijbel met zilveren sloten en beslag, H.W. van Giffen, Groningen, 1797 veterhaak 5 x 10 x 719th Century Bible from the publisher J. Brandt en Zoon, Haarlem, Johannes Enschede en Zonen from 1865 with 18th century silver clasps made by Hendrik Willem van Giffen from Groningen, active from 1794 to 1811. (master's mark LvG in contour). The shield with number 2 belongs to essayist Frederik Stratingh, who worked in Groningen 1837 1845. The master mark GH with ax in rectangle belongs to Geert Herwig Sr., who worked in Veendam from 1826 to 1843.
